Sadly the wonderful sailing of yesterday was not to be repeated today. With heavy cloud and no wind from early morning the Race Team for Series D aboard Betivuka motored out of the harbour in the hope of identifying the predicted south westerly breeze.
Despite a
breeze eventually showing on Chimet of 5 to 7 knots, this was only a tease, not
registering at sea level on the Committee boat out in Hayling Bay, nor in the
harbour. Instead whilst the race team
waited patiently the storm from further south crept in, bringing rain, thunder
and lightening, by which time the ‘hold ashore’ was changed to all racing
postponed to another day.
